372. The following precept is regarding returning lost articles, and to return that which was stolen. The Holy Luminary, MEANING RABBI SHIMON, SAID TO MOSES, The Holy One, blessed be He, will in the future return the article you lost because of the mixed multitudes. This is your bride, DENOTING MALCHUT, AS MOSES IS CONSIDERED THE HUSBAND OF THE MATRON. When the mixed multitudes made the calf, your bride fell, as the verse states, "he threw the tablets out of his hands" (Shemot 32:19), ALLUDING TO MALCHUT.
373. It is mentioned with you, "Go, get you down" (Ibid. 7). That verse alludes to your demotion into the fourth exile. "Go" - ITS EXPLANATION IS similar to "Get you out of your country" (Beresheet 12:1), MEANING ENTERING INTO EXILE. HERE, IN THE NAME OF MOSES, there is a Shin, CONSISTING OF THREE LINES, IN THE SECRET OF "Lo, El does all these things twice or three times with a man" (Iyov 33:29). Here, IN THE THREE LINES OF THE SHIN, it is indicated to you, Yisrael, to go three times in exile, WHILE WITH the fourth EXILE, "get you down" on behalf of YOUR only daughter, MEANING MALCHUT, who is really your bride that fell, as it says, "...Is fallen; she shall no more rise" (Amos 5:2) but as soon as you descend on her behalf, she will rise with you. SHE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RISE ON HER OWN, BUT ONLY WITH THE AID OF HER HUSBAND, NAMELY MOSES. This is your lost thing returned.
374. It was not for naught that the Torah was revealed to you more than all Yisrael, and it went to meet you as the waters of the well that rose towards you, but not to the fathers or any other person. The well, WHICH IS MALCHUT, recognizes its master, and about this Torah it is said, "And from thence they went to Beer (lit. 'well') that is the well" (Bemidbar 21:16). The well is full, its waters do not spill out; it is the well of water of Torah, AS TORAH IS REFERRED TO AS 'WATER,' that produced all waters, MEANING THE ENTIRE TORAH. And all waters in the universe enter within it and its waters do not spill out, BUT RATHER THEY ARE GATHERED WITHIN HER.
375. Even if all mankind were to draw the water of this well, and even if all the clouds did, it would not miss even a hairsbreadth of it. This well is endless, deeper than the Torah, as it is written, "and broader than the sea" (Iyov 11:9). One who draws water with the pitcher (Heb. kad, Caf Dalet) OF THE WELL, MEANING OF THE TWENTY-FOUR (CAF DALET) HOLY SCRIPTURES, absorbs all the world's wisdom and surely the well itself.
376. And so in the future, the Holy One, blessed be He, will return that which was stolen from you, namely the staff, as it is written, "and plucked the spear out of the hand of the Egyptian" (II Shmuel 23:21) for it was you who was referred to as an Egyptian man. In your exile and your incarnation, AS IN EVERY GENERATION THERE IS THE EXPRESSION OF MOSES, He will set aside for you cities of refuge to save yourself from your endless pursuers.
