Correction Door Eyes Fear Gates Holy Name House Leaves Mezuzah

132. Rabbi Aba continued, It is written, "Hashem shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth, and forevermore" (Tehilim 121:8). HE ASKS, "Preserve your going out" is correct, but what is meant by, "your coming in"? For whoever enters his house is not afraid AND NEEDS NOT BE KEPT. HE ANSWERS, The man who places the holy mark in his house with the words of the Supernal Name, NAMELY THE MEZUZAH, is protected from everything. When that man goes out of his apartment to the gate of his house, he lifts up his eyes, sees the holy mark and looks at the gate. When he leaves, it escorts and guards him. When that man enters, it pronounced before him, Take care of the honor of the King's image. All this because of that mark of the Holy Name that is marked on his door.

132. תּוּ אָמַר רַבִּי אַבָּא, כְּתִיב, יְיָ' יִשְׁמוֹר צֵאתְךָ וּבוֹאֶךָ מֵעַתָּה וְעַד עוֹלָם. יִשְׁמָר צֵאתְךָ תִּינַח. אֶלָּא וּבוֹאֶךָ, מַאי קָא מַיְירֵי, דְּהָא מַאן דְּעָאל לְבֵיתֵיהּ לָא מִסְתָּפֵי. אֶלָּא הַאי ב"נ דְּשַׁוֵּי רְשִׁימָא קַדִּישָׁא לְבֵיתֵיהּ, בְּמִלִּין דִּשְׁמָא עִלָּאָה, הַאי אִתְנְטִיר מִכֺּלָּא. כַּד נָפִיק הַהוּא דְּמָדוֹרֵיהּ לְתַרְעָא דְּבֵיתֵיהּ, זָקִיף וְחָמֵי רְשִׁימָא קַדִּישָׁא, וְעָיֵין בְּפִתְחֵיהּ. כַּד נָפִיק ב"נ, הוּא אוֹזִיף לֵיהּ, וְנָטִיר לֵיהּ. כַּד עָיֵּיל לְבֵיתֵיהּ, הוּא אַכְרִיז קַמֵּיהּ, אִזְדָּהֲרוּ בִּיקָרָא דְּדִיּוּקְנָא דְּמַלְכָּא קַדִּישָׁא. וְכָל דָּא, בְּגִין הַהוּא רְשִׁימָא דִּשְׁמָא קַדִּישָׁא, דְּאִתְרְשִׁים בְּתַרְעֵיהּ.

133. וְלָאו דַּי לֵיהּ לְב"נ דְּאִתְנְטַר בְּבֵיתֵיהּ, אֶלָּא קוּדְשָׁא בְּרִיךְ הוּא נָטִיר לֵיהּ כַּד עָיֵּיל, וְכַד נָפִיק. דִּכְתִּיב, יְיָ' יִשְׁמָר צֵאתְךָ וּבוֹאֶךָ מֵעַתָּה וְעַד עוֹלָם. זַכָּאִין אִינּוּן יִשְׂרָאֵל בְּהַאי עָלְמָא, וּבְעָלְמָא דְּאָתֵי.

Come and see, woe to the man who does not know how to beware of the evil spirit that lies between the doorposts, and does not mark the gate to his house with a holy Supernal Name, NAMELY THE MEZUZAH, to be with him. 134. ת"ח, הַאי רוּחָא בִּישָׁא דְּשָׁארִי בֵּין תַּרְעֵי. וַוי לֵיהּ לְב"נ, דְּלָא יָדַע לְאִזְדַּהֲרָא מִנֵּיהּ, וְלָא רָשִׁים לְפִתְחָא דְּבֵיתֵיהּ שְׁמָא עִלָּאָה קַדִּישָׁא, דְּיִשְׁתְּכַח עִמֵּיהּ. דְּהָא אִית לֵיהּ תְּלַת מְאָה וְשִׁתִּין וְחָמֵשׁ שַׁמָּשִׁין בִּישִׁין מְקַטְרְגִין, כָּל חַד מְשַׁמֵשׁ יוֹמֵיהּ, וְכֻלְּהוּ מִשְׁתַּכְּחֵי עִמֵּיהּ כָּל יוֹמֵי שַׁתָּא, וּמְקַטְרְגֵי בֵּיהּ לְעֵילָּא וְתַתָּא. וְכֻלְּהוּ מִשְׁתַּכְּחֵי בֵּיהּ בִּימָמָא וּבְלֵילְיָא. בִּימָמָא, לְקַטְרְגָא לֵיהּ. בְּלֵילְיָא, לְצַעֲרָא לֵיהּ בְּחֶלְמֵיהּ.

135. When it is about to denounce him when he enters HIS HOUSE, they put their hands on his shoulders and say to him, Woe to so-and-so who left his Master's domain. Woe to so-and-so in this world and in the World to Come. 135. כַּד נָפִיק לְקַטְרְגָא לֵיהּ, כַּד עָאל, שַׁוְּויָן יְדַיְיהוּ עָלֵיהּ דְּכִתְפֵיהּ, וְאַמְרִין לֵיהּ, וַוי לֵיהּ לִפְלַנְיָּא דְּנָפַק מֵרְשׁוּתָא דְּמָארֵיהּ. וַוי לֵיהּ לִפְלַנְיָּא בְּהַאי עָלְמָא, וּבְעָלְמָא דְּאָתֵי. בג"כ בָּעָאן בְּנֵי מְהֵימְנוּתָא, לְמֶהֱוֵי רְשִׁימִין בְּכֺלָּא, לְמֶהֱוֵי רְשִׁימִין בִּרְשִׁימָא דְּמָארֵיהוֹן, לִאִזְדַּעְזְעָא מִנַּיְיהוּ כָּל סִטְרִין זִינִין בִּישִׁין, לְמֶהֱוֵי נְטִירִין בְּהַאי עָלְמָא, וּבְעָלְמָא דְּאָתֵי. זַכָּאִין חוּלָקֵהוֹן דְּיִשְׂרָאֵל, עָלַיְיהוּ כְּתִיב וְעַמֵּךְ כֻּלָּם צַדִּיקִים לְעוֹלָם יִירְשׁוּ אָרֶץ וְגוֹ.'
