Synopsis

We read about the cubit called Chesed. Rabbi Shimon considers and explains the perfection of Abraham and how it came about. He says that man includes both Chesed and Gvurah, and therefore in all the Sfirot there exist a right and a left, judgment and mercy.

Cubits Hidden Book (Safra De'tzniuta) Male

311. We have learned in the hidden book that the male spread and was fixed in his own formations. The shape of a clean covering was prepared and it became a clear cubit. The length of that cubit is 248 worlds. Everything depends on that opening of the cubit called Yud. As soon as that Yud, which is the opening of the cubit, is revealed, supernal Chesed becomes apparent. This cubit is called Chesed and is dependent on the opening of the cubit, but it is not considered Chesed until the Yud of the mouth of the cubit becomes uncovered.

312. Come and see that Abraham was not considered perfect in this Chesed up until the Yud of the cubit was revealed, THAT IS THE CROWN OF YESOD. 312. ות"ח, דְּלָא אִתְקְרֵי אַבְרָהָם שְׁלִים בְּהַאי חֶסֶד, עַד דְּאִתְגַּלְיָיא יוֹ"ד דְּאַמָּה. וְכֵיוָן דְּאִתְגְּלֵי אִקְרֵי שְׁלִים, הה"ד הִתְהַלֵּךְ לְפָנַי וֶהְיֵה תָמִים, תָמִים מַמָּשׁ. וּכְתִיב וָאֶהְיֶה תָמִים לוֹ וָאֶשְׁתַּמְּרָה מֵעֲוֹנִי. מַאי קָא מַיְירֵי, רֵישָׁא וְסֵיפָא. אֶלָּא כָּל דְּגַלֵּי הַאי יוֹ"ד, וְאִסְתְּמַר דְּלָא עַיְילֵיהּ לְיוֹ"ד בִּרְשׁוּתָא אַחֲרָא. לִיהֱוֵי שְׁלִים לְעָלְמָא דְּאָתֵי, וְלֶהֱוֵי צָרִיר בִּצְרוֹרָא דְּחַיֵּי. מַאי בִּרְשׁוּתָא אַחֲרָא. דִּכְתִּיב וּבָעַל בַּת אֵל נֵכָר. וּבְגִין כַּךְ כְּתִיב, וָאֶהְיֶה תָמִים לוֹ, דְּכֵיוָן דְּהוּא תָּמִים בְּגִלּוּיָיא דְּיוֹ"ד, וָאֶשְׁתַּמְּרָה מֵעֲוֹנִי.

Body Chassadim Cubits Female Judgment Mercy Nakedness

313. When this cubit gets extended, the side of Gvurah is extended from the Gvurot of the left of the female. It is submerged in a specific area in the female and the whole covering of the female body is marked by nakedness. In this place, it is considered overall nakedness, which is the area in which to conceal this cubit referred to as Chesed in order to mitigate the Gvurah that is comprised of five Gvurot with the Chesed that comprises five Chassadim. Chesed is right and Gvurah is left. One gets firmly established in the other and is called man, which is inclusive of both sides. Therefore in all the Sfirot, there exists a right and a left, Judgment and Mercy.

313. וְכֵיוָן דְּאִתְפְּשַׁט אַמָּה דָּא, אִתְפְּשָׁט סְטָר גְּבוּרָה מֵאִינּוּן גְּבוּרָאן בִּשְׂמָאלָא דְּנוּקְבָּא, וְאִשְׁתְּקַע בְּנוּקְבָּא בַּאֲתָר חַד, וְאַרְשִׁם בְּעֶרְיָיתָא, כְּסוּתָהּ דְּכָל גּוּפָא דְּנוּקְבָּא. וּבְהַהוּא אֲתָר אִקְרֵי עֶרְוָה דְּכַלָּא. אֲתָר לְאַצְנְעָא לְהַהוּא אַמָּה, דְּאִקְרֵי חֶסֶד. בְּגִין לְאִתְבַּסְּמָא גְּבוּרָה דָּא דְּכָלִיל חָמֵשׁ גְּבוּרָאן, בְּהַאי חֶסֶד דְּכָלִיל בְּחָמֵשׁ חֲסָדִין. חֶסֶד יְמִינָא, גְּבוּרָא שְׂמָאלָא. אִתְבְּסָם דָּא בְּדָא, וְאִקְרֵי אָדָם, כָּלִיל מִתְּרֵין סִטְרִין. וּבְגִין כַּךְ, בְּכֻלְּהוּ כִּתְרִין אִית יְמִינָא וּשְׂמָאלָא, דִּינָא וְרַחֲמֵי.
