"And Elohim saw everything that He made"

Synopsis

When God created us, He saw the final outcome of His intention to bestow infinite fulfillment upon the Vessel for all eternity. The Creator actually saw the result even in the original thought, because He is above any concept of time. He perceives the end in the beginning. We, however, who are under the influence of time, find ourselves in a process of transformation that eventually paves the way for infinite fulfillment.

This section of the Zohar connects us to The Creator's original thought of creation. We can accelerate the process of change and connect ourselves to the Light that is destined to be ours when we achieve our final correction.

173. "And Elohim saw everything that He had made, and, behold, it was very good" (Beresheet 1:31). These words correct the omission of the words, "it was good," in the second day. These words were omitted on the second day, because death was created on that day. Now, the words "it was very good" are used, which, the friends have explained, refer to death. BECAUSE THIS IS SO, IT WAS FITTING TO USE "IT WAS GOOD" ON THE SECOND DAY, THE DAY ON WHICH DEATH WAS CREATED. BUT THE WORDS WERE NOT USED UNTIL THE SIXTH DAY, WHEN IT WAS REVEALED THAT DEATH IS VERY GOOD.

173. וַיַּרְא אֱלֹקִים אֶת כָּל אֲשֶֶׁר עָשָׂה, וְהִנֵּה טוֹב מְאֹד, הָכָא אִתְתַּקַּן, מַה דְּלָא אִתְּמָר כִּי טוֹב בַּשֵּׁנִי, בְּגִין דְּאִתְבְּרֵי בֵּיהּ מוֹתָא, וְהָכָא אִתְּמָר וְהִנֵּה טוֹב מְאֹד. וְאָזְלָא כְּמָה דְּאָמְרֵי חַבְרַיָא, וְהִנֵּה טוֹב מְאֹד זֶה מָוֶת.

174. "And Elohim saw everything that He made and behold, it was very good." HE ASKS: Did He not see that before? THE WORDS "AND ELOHIM SAW" GIVE THE IMPRESSION THAT HE ONLY SAW AFTER HE HAD CREATED. HE EXPLAINS: The Holy One, blessed be He, saw all - THE THINGS THAT HAD BEEN MADE AND THOSE YET TO BE MADE. And some commented that the particle Et before the word "everything" indicates that He saw all the generations to be and all that was to happen in the world in each generation, before those generations even came to existence. THE WORDS, "which He had made," ALLUDE TO all the works of Creation RECOUNTED IN BERESHEET. There, the foundation and root of all that was to be, and all that will subsequently come to pass in the world, was established. Hence, the Holy One, blessed be He, foresaw all and placed all in the works of Creation.

174. וַיַּרְא אֱלֹקִים אֶת כָּל אֲשֶׁר עָשָׂה, וְהִנֵּה טוֹב מְאֹד, וְכִי לָא חָמָא לֵיהּ קוֹדֶם, אֶלָּא כֹּלָּא חָמָא לֵיהּ קֻדְשָׁא בְּרִיךְ הוּא, וּמַאן דַּאֲמַר אֶת כָּל, לְאַסְגָּאָה כָּל דָּרִין דְּיֵיתוּן לְבָתַר כֵּן, וְכֵן כָּל מַה דְּיִתְחַדֵּשׁ בְּעָלְמָא, בְּכָל דָּרָא וְדָרָא, עַד לָא יֵיתוּן לְעָלְמָא. אֲשֶׁר עָשָׂה דָּא כָּל עוֹבָדִין דִבְרֵאשִׁית, דְּתַמָּן אִתְבְּרֵי יְסוֹדָא וְעִקְּרָא לְכָל מַה דְּיֵיתֵי וְיִתְחַדֵּשׁ בְּעָלְמָא לְבָתַר כֵּן. וּבְגִין כָּךְ חָמָא לֵיהּ קֻדְשָׁא בְּרִיךְ הוּא, עַד לָא הֲוָה, וְשַׁוֵּי כֹּלָּא בְּעוֹבָדָא דִּבְרֵאשִׁית.

175. The unique aspect of the words, "the sixth day," is the letter Hei (Heb. 'the'). The Hei was used in reference to no day EXCEPT THE SIXTH. FOR THE FORMULA IS NOT 'THE FIRST DAY', 'THE SECOND DAY', AND SO ON, BUT RATHER "ONE DAY," "A SECOND DAY," AND SO ON. This is because now the world was finished. THIS IS ZEIR ANPIN AND NUKVA, WHO WERE COMBINED AT THE END OF THE WORKS OF CREATION, as the female was united with the male into one unit, Hei with "sixth," to be completely one. "Thus the heavens and earth were finished" indicates that the unification OF THE MALE AND FEMALE was complete in every detail. THE WORKS OF CREATION were completed in every way and were fully equipped with everything.

175. יוֹם הַשִּׁשִּׁי מַאי שְׁנָא בְּכָלְהוֹ יוֹמֵי דְּלָא אִתְּמָר בְּהוֹ הֵ"א, אֶלָּא הָכָא כַּד אִשְׁתַּכְלֵל עָלְמָא, אִתְחַבְּרַת נוּקְבָא בִּדְכוּרָא, בְּחִבּוּרָא חַד, ה' בַּשִּׁשִּׁי לְמֶהֱוֵי כֹּלָּא חַד. וַיְכֻלּוּ אִשְׁתַּכְלְלוּ כֹלָא חַד, אִשְׁתַּכְלְלוּ מִכֹּלָּא, וְאִשְׁתַּלִימוּ בְּכֹלָּא.
