When this veil is spread

Synopsis

Rabbi Shimon describes the veil or curtain that is spread over the friends, and says that the thirteen Corrections (formations) had been awaiting their explanations, and afterwards they ascended to their places, causing great joy among the angels. At the end of Correction (formation) the rabbis will again say all these holy sayings in the World to Come.

166. אָמַר ר"ש לְחַבְרַיָּיא, כַּד אִתְפְּרִיס פְּרִיסָא דָּא, דְּאַתּוּן חָמָאן עֲלָנָא, אֲנָא חֲמֵינָא דְּנַחְתּוּ כֹּל תִּקּוּנִין בְּגַוָּוה, וּנְהִירוּ בְּאֲתָר דָּא. וְחַד פָּרוֹכְתָּא בּוּצִינָא דְּקוּדְשָׁא בְּרִיךְ הוּא, פְּרִיסָא בְּאַרְבַּע סַמְכִין, לְאַרְבַּע עִיבָר.

167. One pillar is situated from below upwards and a rake is in its hand, A TOOL TO CLEAN THE WASTE. In that rake are four keys, different FROM ONE ANOTHER in every direction. They latch on to the curtain and lower it from top to bottom and similarly to the second, third and fourth pillars. Between one pillar and another are attached eighteen stakes of support, which are lit up with the candle that is engraved in that particular veil. It is the same with all four directions.

167. סַמְכָא חַד הוּא יָתִיב מִתַּתָּא לְעֵילָּא, וְחַד מַגְרוֹפְיָא בִּידֵיהּ. וּבְמַגְרוֹפְיָא אַרְבַּע מַפְתְּחִי שַׁנְיָין מִכָּל סִטְרוֹי. וּמִתְאַחֲדָן פַּרְסָא, וְנַחְתִּין לָהּ מֵעֵילָּא לְתַתָּא. וְכֵן לְסַמְכָא תִּנְיָינָא, וּתְלִיתָאָה וּרְבִיעָאָה. וּבֵין סַמְכָא לְסַמְכָא, אֲחִידָן תִּמְנֵיסָר רַגְלֵי דְּסַמְכִי וּמִתְנַהֲרִין בְּבוּצִינָא דִּגְלִיפָא בְּהַהוּא פְּרִיסָא. וְכֵן לְד' עִיבָר.

168. I saw these Correction (formation) shining on it and the words in our mouths, MEANING THE EXPLANATIONS OF THE CORRECTIONS (FORMATIONS) WHICH WE HAVE EXPOUNDED UPON, were waiting to be crowned and ascend each one to its proper place. While those CORRECTIONS (FORMATIONS) were established by our mouths - MEANING WHILE WE WERE EXPLAINING THEM, SINCE THAT WAY WE GAVE THEM MEANING SO THEY WERE ESTABLISHED ABOVE, each one rose. Each was crowned and established by the same Correction (formation) that each one of us has established here, by the mouth of each one of us. During the time that each one of us opened his mouth to explain a certain Correction (formation), that Correction (formation) was awaiting the words that would come from your mouth. Following that, it would continue upward to be crowned in its place.

168. וַחֲמֵינָא אִלֵּין תִּקּוּנִין דִּנְהִרִין עָלָהּ, וַהֲווֹ מְחַכָּאן מִלֵּי דְּפוּמָנָא, לְאִתְעַטְּרָא וּלְאִסְתַּלְּקָא כָּל חַד בְּאַתְרֵיהּ. וְכַד הֲווֹ מִתְתַּקְּנָן מִפּוּמָנָא, כָּל חַד וְחַד סָלִיק וְאִתְעַטָּר וְאִתְתָּקַּן בְּהַהוּא תִּקּוּנָא דְּאִתְתְּקַן הָכָא, מִכָּל פּוּמָא דְּחַד מִינָן. וּבְשַׁעֲתָא דְּחַד מִינָן פָּתַח פּוּמָא, לְתַקְּנָא בְּהַהוּא תִּקּוּנָא, הַהוּא תִּקּוּנָא הֲוָה יְתִיב וּמְחַכֶּה לְמִלָּה דְּנָפִיק מִפּוּמֵיכוֹן, וּכְדֵין סַלְּקָא בְּדוּכְתֵּיהּ וְאִתְעַטָּר.

Angels Chariot Pillar Throne World to Come, The

169. All the pillars, MEANING THE ANGELS THAT SUPPORT THE THRONE OF MALCHUT from both sides, were joyous, since they heard and understood what they had not previously known and were listening attentively to your voice. How many Chariots were present here for your sake, MEANING THE ANGELS, ON WHOM MALCHUT RIDES. Praised are you for the World to Come, since all the words that were uttered from your mouth are holy words, honest words that do not deviate right or left BUT ARE COMING FROM THE CENTRAL COLUMN THAT CONTAINS THEM ALL.

169. וְכָל סַמְכִין מִכָּאן וּמִכָּאן, חַדָּאן עַל דְּשַׁמְעִין מַה דְּלָא יָדְעוּ, וְצַיְיתִין לְקַלֵּיכוּן. כַּמָה רְתִיכִין קַיְימִין הָכָא בְּגִינֵיכוֹן. זַכָּאִין אַתּוּן לְעָלְמָא דְּאָתֵי, דְּכֻלְּהוּ מִלֵּי דְּנַפְקֵי מִפּוּמֵיכוֹן, כֻּלְּהוּ מִלִּין קַדִּישִׁין. מִלִּין כַּשְׁרָן דְּלָא אַסְטָאן לִימִינָא וְלִשְׂמָאלָא.

Correction (Tikun) Lips Tikun (Correction) Torah Wine World to Come, The

170. The Holy One, blessed be He, is happy to hear and pays attention to these words until he finishes judging, MEANING UNTIL THE FINAL CORRECTION (FORMATION), because you will say for a second time all these holy words in the World to Come. About you, it is written: "And the roof of your mouth like the best wine...causing the sleepers' lips to murmur" (Shir Hashirim 7:10). What is the meaning of: "causing the sleepers' lips to murmur?" It means that your lips will be speaking of Torah in his presence even in the World to Come.

170. קוּדְשָׁא בְּרִיךְ הוּא חַדֵּי לְמִשְׁמַע, וְצַיִית לְהָנֵי מִלֵּי, עַד דְּהוּא אַגְמָר דִּינָא, דִּי לְעָלְמָא דְּאָתֵי תֵּימְרוּן זִמְנָא אַחֲרָא כָּל הָנֵי מִלֵּי קַדִּישִׁין. עָלַיְיכוּ כְּתִיב, וְחִכֵּךְ כְּיֵין הַטּוֹב וְגוֹ,' דּוֹבֵב שִׂפְתֵי יְשֵׁנִים. מַאי דּוֹבֵב שְׂפָתַי יְשֵׁנִים. דַּאֲפִילּוּ לְעָלְמָא דְּאָתֵי מְרַחְשָׁן שִׂפְוָותַיְכוּ אוֹרַיְיתָא קַמֵּיהּ.
