178. Ra'aya Meheimna (the Faithful Shepherd). "And the people took their dough before it was leavened" (Shemot 12:34). This (25th) commandment is to remove the leaven. For this commandment was given over to Yisrael: "And the people took up and carried their dough before it was leavened," and, "shall there be no leaven found in your houses" (Ibid. 19). The friends have already explained it, and we have explained the secret meaning of the difference between leavened and unleavened bread OF THE EXODUS FROM EGYPT in many places - that one is the Evil Inclination and the other is the Good Inclination.
178. (רעיא מהימנא) וְיִשָּׂא הָעָם אֶת בְּצֵקִוֹ טֶרֶם יֶחְמָץ וְגוֹ.' כ"ה פִּקּוּדָא דָּא, לְבָעֵר חָמֵץ. דְּהָא פִּקּוּדָא דָּא, אִתְמְסַר לְהוּ לְיִשְׂרָאֵל וְיִשָּׂא הָעָם אֶת בְּצֵקִוֹ טֶרֶם יֶחְמָץ. וּכְתִיב שְּׂאוֹר לֹא יִמָּצֵא בְּבָתֵּיכֶם, וְהָא אוּקְמוּהָ חַבְרַיָּא, וְרָזָא אוֹקִימְנָא, בֵּין חָמֵץ וּמַצָּה דְּכַמָּה דּוּכְתֵּי, דָּא יֵצֶר רַע, וְדָא יֵצֶר טוֹב.
