What is the Zohar?
The Most Powerful Spiritual Tool

Revealed more than 2,000 years ago, the Zohar is a spiritual text that explains the secrets of the Bible, the Universe and every aspect of life.

Composed by kabbalist Rav Shimon bar Yochai, the Zohar defies definition. On a physical level, the Zohar is a set of twenty-three books, a commentary on biblical and spiritual matters in the form of conversations among spiritual masters. It is a voluminous guidebook to the lost divine nature of our souls. It is a compendium of virtually all information pertaining to the universe—information that science is only beginning to verify today. Its vast and comprehensive commentary on biblical matters has captivated spiritual and intellectual giants for over two millennia.

But its codes, its metaphors, its cryptic language are not given to us purely for understanding. They are designed as channels for energy. Like all holy books, the Zohar is a text that not only expresses spiritual energy, it embodies it.

To merely pick up the Zohar, to scan its Aramaic letters and allow in the energy that infuses them, is to experience what kabbalists have experienced for thousands of years: a powerful energy-giving instrument, a life-saving tool imbued with the ability to bring peace, protection, healing and fulfillment to those who possess it.

The Zohar is for Everyone

The teachings of the Zohar were once considered secrets to which only a few were granted access.

While, spiritual and intellectual giants throughout history have turned to the Zohar to unravel the secrets of the Bible and the mysteries of the universe, by the dawn of the 20th century the Zohar had virtually disappeared from the world. Few people in the general population had ever heard of it. Whoever sought to read it—in any country, in any language, at any price—faced a long and futile search.

But now, through the work of The Kabbalah Centre and the launch of this website, what was once meant for those few deemed “worthy” of receiving it is now being made available to all who need it. Today, millions of copies of the Zohar are in circulation worldwide.

Using the Zohar

To benefit from the spiritual Light of the Zohar, you can have it in your home or you can place it in areas where you want to attract blessings in your life. For even greater benefit, you can scan, read, study or share the Zohar.

There are specific sections of the Zohar that can help us to attract certain blessings—for example, healing, miracles, prosperity, protection, and more. By perusing these special sections of the Zohar, you can awaken that particular gift in your life and in the lives of others.

It is important to keep in mind, however, that what we are able to gain from connecting to the Zohar is in direct proportion to the consciousness we bring to it—and to the amount of diligence and effort we apply to study.

Anyone who is merely superficially curious to know the secrets of the Zohar or hopes to utilize these secrets for selfish ends will be profoundly disappointed. The Zohar can, in this sense, be likened to a mirror that reflects back to you your own image. Those who do not like what they see here should bear this in mind.

According to ancient kabbalists, the Zohar is the greatest gift we can give or to receive in this world, so it must be treated with the utmost respect. That respect can only be shown through our sincerity and devotion when approaching its teachings.
